A1. In order to protect domestic industries, EU subsidies for Airbus was required. Subsidies was essential to prevent Boeings monopoly, because Boeing was head- start in Air bus and Boeings monopoly industry. if free market without the intervention of the government had been, Boeing would have been monopoly company. iF Air bus got government subsides, profits can be gained with participating in Airbus aircraft production.
